A print on high quality hot-pressed paper, 42 x 29.7 cm, made especially for The Container to extend the artist’s original papercut artwork The Primal Scene (2011), from her series The Educational. Exploring the relation between medicine and art, the piece depicts a sexual intercourse between a man and woman, and explores the Freudian theory of the Primal Scene.

The DIY version can be kept as a poster, or can be assembled by cutting along the dotted lines into a paper sculpture.

Beatriz Inglessis is a Venezuelan artist specializing in paper works and Japanese woodcut printing. She has been awarded a PhD in woodcut printing from Tokyo University of the Arts (Geidai) and exhibits internationally. www.beatrizinglessis.net
